The Flagstaff Kennel Club has helped to support the Paws to Read program for many years. In 2017 we expanded our support to Therapy Pets of Northern Arizona. We encourage you to learn more about these organizations by viewing their websites below.
To meet the growing demand for therapy dogs, classes are offered spring and fall to prepare teams for evaluation by Pet Partners. Dates and times for these classes will be available on the Therapy Pets website.
Some of the places that therapy teams volunteer are:
Paws to Read – in schools and in the libraries
Ponderosa High School – the WAGS program (warm and gentle support)
Paws Your Stress at NAU – through the Health Department – Paws Your Stress days are scheduled during for the last Wednesday of each month (Sept. Oct. Nov)
Stress Free Zones at NAU and Coconino Community College – each spring and late fall during study week.
Brookside Senior Living Community – through Hospice Compassus
The Peaks Senior Living Community
